5 Ways to Get More Active as a Couple

5 Ways to Get More Active as a Couple

It’s really easy to fall into that comfort trap as a couple. You started out by doing everything to impress each other, but now after dating steadily, the motivation isn’t really there anymore and you spend most of your free time getting take-out and binge-watching Netflix.

If you’ve become lazy as a couple, try the following tips to get more active:

1.  Join a Challenge

We all know that it takes a lot of willpower to motivate yourself, but if the right incentive is in place, who knows what you are capable of. Do a little research about fitness challenges in your area, or even online. Being part of a group will be the accountability you need to get moving.

2.  Take a Hike

Getting outside more often will help boost your mood and also get that valuable Vitamin D that you need. Start slowly by scheduling a hike every second or third weekend. Not only will you be broadening your horizons, but you’ll break a sweat while doing it as well. It’s a great way for a couple to bond while being active.

3.  Dance Classes

A great way to exercise as a couple is by joining a dance class. Maybe you’ve got some moves that you forgot about, or you’ve always wanted to learn a certain dance. Taking a class like ballroom dancing could help you stay active while getting up close and personal with your loved one.

4.  Gardening

You’ll be surprised at how tired you can get from just working in the garden. Make time for garden maintenance and plant new plants and produce to further inspire a healthy lifestyle. Gardening will help you break a sweat and it’s also very therapeutic.

5.  Take the Pets or Kids to the Park

If you have pets, try to make a point of getting them outside at least once or twice a week. It’s a great way to chat and bond with your partner and keep your furry friends happy as well. In case you have a family, or friends with small kids take them to the part and embrace your inner child on the playground.
