Creating Secure Attachment with Your Partner
Did you know that there are various attachment styles and ways in which we attach to those in our lives? We all need attachment in our lives, it’s the basis of healthy and happy relationships. The ideal attachment style to have in your relationship is a secure attachment style.
When you have a secure attachment style you have a sense of belonging, and you feel like you are connected to your partner and to others in your life on a deep level. It shows that your need of feeling part of a group is met and you understand the benefits thereof.
If you have a secure attachment style in your relationship you will feel secure and connected while feeling the freedom to be yourself at home and in the social realm. Secure adults offer support to their significant others and they create a space for the other to feel validated and comfortable when troubled.
Working on your attachment style can do wonders in all of your relationships. If you want to have a secure attachment style you’ll have to be honest, equal and open in your relationship allowing both parties to feel independent, but still loving towards each other.
In order to feel secure within our relationships, we have to feel confident and secure within ourselves as well. Explore what made you attach the way that currently are, maybe there are some people or instances that you need to forgive in order to move forward.
